Zhou Yu was a Military general and strategist who served under the warlord Sun Ce in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. He is most recognized for his battle of Red Cliffs, where his command helped to defend off the attack of the northern warlord Cao Cao. Zhou Yu was a very strong and handsome man, but still had a big heart. He was generous with a straight forward attitude, which is why his soldiers trusted him when going into battle.

When Zhou Yu's coffin was discovered, his body was soaked in a unknown yellow liquid. His joints were still movable, and his skin had become elastic. Zhou Yu had gone through an autopsy which was evident by the sutured incision from the suprasternal notch on his pubis.

It is still unclear what caused of death of Zhou Yu, as it has only been categorized as an illness. On his deathbed, Zhou Yu recommended to Sun Quan that Lu Su be his successor.
