Experts unearthed a nearly perfectly preserved 300 year old mummy in Xiangcheng city. This mummy was believed to be a senior official in the Qing dynasty. He wore a robe of Qing Dynasty and a long braided ponytail, known as the queue hairstyle imposed on the Han Chinese during the Qing Dynasty. Under his head there was a pile of white cotton.

The body didn't appear to have been treated to be mummified and it is unknown why the body was so well preserved. As the body was removed it began to turn black very quickly once exposed to oxygen.
