She of Isis
Ta-Iset (or She of Isis) was a 4 or 5 year-old girl who lived in the Akhmim region of Egypt by the Nile River. She was believed to live around 350BC. It seems as though she was of middle-class descent, but not much else is known.
Her head was bent towards her chest and she was wrapped in linens. In the casket, there was found a feather and an inscription of her name.
It is believed that this mummy was the possession of a general of Napoleon, before being thrown in a trash heap in France.
Knife marks on the side of the casket make it easy to assume that people had tried opening it to look for lost treasures.
The mummy is 2,000 years old.
