Family[]

It is believed that Smendes may have been the son of Hrere, the Chief of the Harem of Amon-Re and likely the wife of a high priest of Amon. If Smendes was the son of Hrere, then he would have been the brother of Nodjmet, the wife of Herihor. Smendes was also believed to be married to Tentamun who was likely to be the daughter of Ramesses IX.
