Part of the royal family in Aswan between the Old and Middle Kingdom. Found in a two-layer cedar coffin during an excavation at the Tombs of the Nobles, west of Aswan in southern Egypt. Sachiny was a pivotal character during the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, the mother of two Aswan rulers under Amenemhat III and was the daughter of Prince Sarnbhut II, who was the governor of the Elephantine region.

Mummified in a sarcophagus in the Tomb of the Nobles, the mummy was wrapped in linen and her face was covered by the remnants of a mask made of cartonnage

Wood of the sarcophagus was in good condition and allowed for an accurate date to be assigned.
