Her family had ruled Elephantine around 1800 BC, and ranked just below the family of the ruling pharaoh.Nomarchs were essentially provincial governors in ancient Egypt.

She was the mother of Heqaib II and Amaeny-Senb, who became two of the highest authorities of Elephantine under the reign of Amenemhat III in around 1800 BC. Following the death of all the male members of her family, she became the sole holder of the dynastic rights in the government of Elephantine.

Mummification[]

Body found in extremely good condition; wrapped in linen and enclosed in two wooden coffins. Face was also covered with a delicate cartonnage funerary mask (made of layers of linen/papyrus covered in plaster).

Studies[]

The inner coffin was in such good condition that the researchers will be able to tell the year in which the tree that was used to make it was cut. The discovery of this mummy has allowed archaeologists to piece together the genealogy of Elephantine rulers.
